Eaglearts Academy was created to provide quality arts training, recreational activities and positive personal experiences that will allow each participant to learn and grow within a fun and nurturing environment. We strive to create an atmosphere that ensures the safety, well-being, happiness and productivity of each member of our community. It is essential to each student’s success that they have chosen to come to Eaglearts and are committed to getting the most out of this opportunity. We ask that parents and guardians review the following behaviour expectations with your child to insure an understanding and willingness to abide by this agreement.
Students agree follow these behaviour guidelines:
- To participate in classes and activities with energy, focus and a positive attitude.
- To give all medications to camp directors to insure they are in safe hands and administered according to the instruction of your doctor, parent(s) or guardian(s).
- To eat a full and balanced diet.
- To participate in all activities with safety and moderation in mind. I understand that every precaution for my health and safety will be taken. In the event of illness or injury, my parent(s) or guardian(s) will be responsible for any medical expenses that are necessary for my care.
- To keep my valuables in a locker with a lock that I will bring to Eaglearts. I understand that Eaglearts is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property.
- To focus on inclusive relationships. I realize that cliques or romantic relationships are a distraction that often result in hurt feelings and take away from the atmosphere of the camp. I am aware that inappropriate physical contact is not allowed and that I may not enter the dormitories assigned to members of the opposite sex. Violation may result in the restriction of privileges or lead to expulsion without the refund of fees.
- To dress and behave with moderation at all times. I understand that I will be asked to leave a class or activity for inappropriate clothing or behaviour including: foul language, bare bellies and visible boxers or underwear. I understand that females who participate in waterfront activities must wear a one piece bathing suit or a moderate two piece that covers the chest and mid section and males must wear bathing trunks and a shirt unless they are swimming.
- To act with respect, courtesy and consideration toward all members of the community. I understand that acts of violence, real or threatened, bullying, harassment or intimidation of any member of the school community will not be tolerated and may result in expulsion with no refund of fees.
- Not to cut or die my hair - or the hair of others; pierce, tattoo, or cut myself - or others.
- Not to smoke, use drugs or alcohol, or posses any smoking or drug paraphernalia, weapons, explosives or pornography. I understand that students using, or in possession of any of these items, will be expelled with no refund of fees.
- To be respectful of school property and the property of others. I understand that vandalism against and theft of property and possessions of the school or other students will not be tolerated and will result in immediate expulsion with no refund of fees.
- To be obedient to teachers, counsellors, and staff members and to stay within the boundaries of the school. I understand that I may not leave the campus or recreational outing without a parent or guardian AND the permission of the camp directors. Students found off campus are subject to the suspension of privileges or expulsion with no refund of fees.
- Not to bring pets on campus. (There are no exceptions to this rule.)
- To focus on classes, activities and making new friends and therefore agree to leave computers, electronic games, cell phones including camera phones at home. I understand that I may listen to music with the use of headsets in my dormitory as long as there is no inappropriate language, sexual or violent content and as long as it does not interfere with dorm activities or disturb other members of my roommates or other students. I understand that use of electronic music devices outside of my dormitory is not permitted and may result in the confiscation of the devise until my departure. Students traveling with laptops or cell phones will leave them in the administrative office upon arrival.
- to give permission to Eaglearts to use photographs, video, or other representations of you or of your work for promotional, documentation, entertainment or educational purposes.
- to seek the assistance of counsellors, teachers or program directors if I have problems or concerns.
